21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Day 20

21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

Day 20 - How can I help others see?

When we follow Christ, the Holy Spirit opens our eyes more and more to the character of God. We live with grateful hearts, as we ponder that it cost Him to cover us with His amazing grace and forgive us of our sins. It should be a part of our spiritual DNA to want to share about the Jesus that we “see” with others who desperately need to “see.”

We previously referenced Mark 8:22, which begins the story of Jesus’ gradual healing of the blind man. What is noteworthy was what took place before the blind man’s sight was healed.  “They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.” The blind man could not see his way to Jesus. But his “seeing” friends took the initiative to BRING the man to the One who could restore his sight. In the same way, WE, who now SEE Jesus can take the initiative to come alongside those who cannot see, so their eyes can be open to see Jesus! When we reach out to others, implement the B.L.E.S.S. practices, display hospitality, and serve, we can be the conduit to bring others to see the way to salvation! That’s the heartbeat of RCC!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be actively aware of others who cannot yet “see” you. If I don’t have anyone in my life that doesn’t know you, open doors so that I can find them! Give me courage to develop new friendships and expand my friend circle. Help me to take the initiative to bring people directly to you, that they can open their eyes to Your love and message of grace. Amen.
