Grow: Day 10

My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things. And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.
James 1:2-4 TPT

How does growth happen? Slowly.

Yesterday we talked about how growth happens intentionally. Today, let's pray through how growth happens slowly. Make sure you take the time to listen for God's response on each of today's prayer points!

● Strong root systems are grown through adversity; a plant grown in a closet cannot withstand the slightest wind. Ask God to bring to mind some ways that your previous trials have strengthened you, and then spend some time thanking Him for allowing you to build that endurance over time.

● It can be tempting to take the easy and quick way out, but the longest-living plants are also some of the slowest-growing. While sunflowers grow an impressive amount in a few months; they're dead in a single season. Giant sequoias may only grow only a few feet per year, but they also live thousands of years and withstand forest fires. Ask God to show you any shortcuts you've been tempted to make, and commit to sticking it out for the long run.

● Some things grow so slowly that you only notice the growth by looking at old pictures. Ask God if there's anything He wants you to write down so that you can better gauge your growth in the future.
