Grow: Day 9

Foolish man! Don’t you know that what you sow in the ground doesn’t germinate unless it dies? And what you sow is not the body that will come into being, but the bare seed.
1 Corinthians 15:36-37a TPT

Let me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies. Because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died. The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to me, will find true life and enjoy it forever!
John 12:24-25 TPT

How does growth happen? Intentionally.

Even though growth can't happen without the Holy Spirit's power, and healthy growth can't happen apart from God's Word, it is still critical for us to be an intentional part of the process. Sow what you have, and trust God to bring it to life. Before moving on to today’s prayer points, re-read today’s Scripture to tune your ear to God’s voice.

● A good gardener doesn't fertilize plants blindly, because he knows that stimulating the "wrong" type of growth is unhealthy for a plant's long-term health and production. For instance, if you fertilize your tomatoes unwisely, you can cause them to grow an abundance of leaves, with very few tomatoes! Ask God if there are any areas where you've been directing your energy that He wants you to put on hold or eliminate entirely.

● Now that God has shown you what to remove, are you ready to redirect that energy towards producing the fruit He does want to grow? Planting seemingly "dead" seeds is an expression of faith that God will grow them. Ask God to show you anything specific that He wants you to "plant," and then give it over to Him, that He may grow it.

We encourage you to make a written plan to hold yourself accountable both to removing the “wrong” growth and to focusing on the “right” growth!
